Lt. Brewster Ellis KIA
13th Airborne & 45th Division
Lt. Ellis haled from England. Initially he served in the 13th Airborne division. As you can see from his hat patch, he was a glider rider. He married the base commander's daughter;boy was she a looker. He was then transferred to the 45th division as the new father in law did not want him in his combat unit. He fought at Salerno and all the way up to Germany. He was KIAed on April 4, 1945...one month before the VE day. Freedom is not free, rather it is payed for in blood by such hero's as Lt. Ellis. His wife grieved for him until she recently passed.
Here he is on base with either full pack or parachute or both.
